Laura Sofia Clerici was born and raised in Italy, in an Italo-German family. She left Italy in 1999 to attend university in the UK and has since lived in the UK, Japan and Latvia before returning to Italy in 2014. She speaks 4 languages fluently, and enjoys learning about the cultures (and languages) in any place she visits.
After working for 10 years in financial services, taking on marketing and commercial roles for major banking and financial institutions, she turned to her passion for design and fashion by taking over the family business which produces premium textiles. Laura started practicing yoga in London, where she met Francesca and Yogi.
She became involved as a Trustee of the Ashok Tree Foundation because she was inspired by the vision of Yogi Ashokananda and by the infectious enthusiasm of Francesca, Michele and the rest of the team.
Laura now lives in Milan, supporting the marketing and fundraising initiatives of the Foundation, with a view of extending the reach of the activities outside of the UK.
